My mobile phone

Hello, everybody! Listen!!! At the beginning of last week, I dropped my mobile phone in a toilet, I’m ashamed to say…..

The thing I’m more ashamed about was the fact that that was the third time I had done it!!!
I had to recognise how scatter-brained I was.
By the way, the last time I did it was less than one year ago…
I’m unbelievably scatter-brained, aren’t I?

We saw some good cherry blossom over the weekend, in Kinshicho Park and other places. But I’ve got to say this is not ideal weather for cherry blossom parties/viewing-still too cold and windy! Although I do appreciate the Jaga Butter stalls that pop up!

春、間近です

　今日はとても暖かくなりました。今週末は花見にもってこいでしょうね。今年はどこで楽しみましょうか・・・。例年、上野公園の夜桜見物には行っていましたが、昼間にしっかりと桜を愛でたいものです。目黒川沿いや新宿御苑あたりも行ってみたいなぁ、と思っています。話題の東京スカイツリー見学を兼ねて、隅田川のほうも今年は賑わいそうでね。

Yurikoさんのパウンドケーキはとーぉっても美味しそうでした！私がブログに書いたバナナがこんなにおしゃれに変身するとは・・・。感激です！

Sherlock Holmes

I saw the new film at the weekend. Dark, fantastic hokum-a definite thumbs up from me. Really taken with Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law as Holmes and Watson. I’ve always enjoyed the stories since reading Conan Doyle’s originals as a teenager. My all time favourite characterisation has got to be the Jeremy Brett and David Burke/Edmund Hardwicke TV series but the new film versions run them close for me. I like the old black and white films with Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce as well. I love the bumbling (massive IQ drop!) Bruce version of Watson. Hoping to see the new Tim Burton ‘Alice’ when it’s out too, the trailers look great.

ルノワールはお好きですか？

新国立美術館で開催されている「ルノワール」の絵画展を見ました。ルノワールの一ファンとしては、どちらを向いてもルノワール、という幸せな空間に浸ることができます。ルノワールが描く幼い子供や女性の、なんと優美なこと！じっと見ていると、絵の中の人物に話しかけたくなってくるのです。花をいっぱい載せた帽子の女の子には「おめかしをしてこれからお出かけ？」とか、農村の風景の中の親子には「今日はどんなことがあったの？家でおいしい食事が待ってるのかな」などなど、心の中でつぶやく私です。今回は最新の技術を用いて絵を学術的に分析をするコーナーも設けられています。そしてショップでは定番の絵葉書からフランス菓子マカロンまでいろいろあって、こちらも楽しめました。

Yesterday…

…wandering around Kinshicho in my break I was delighted, nay transfixed to discover Kinshicho now has a Burger King! It was an emotional moment for me and I shall soon be returning. The expression ‘Chicken Sandwich ni cheese topping hitotsu tanpin de kudasai’ is hardwired into my Japanese vocabulary bank. Along with the equally essential ‘Caplico dokodesuka?’.

先日EVスタッフが親戚の結婚式に行ったそうな。

料理も美味しく頂いたそうな。

幸せにお裾分けも頂きほっこりほっこり。

とても素敵な時間を過ごせたそうな。

Surprised!

Yesterday, I went to my flamenco lesson.
I learnt some new steps and hand movements, which were very difficult but I’ve been trying to get them right.
At the end of the lesson, I happened to discover that my teacher was the head of that school!!!
I thought her face was really different from her picture on the school website!
I mean she’s more attractive and more beautiful than her website picture!

Anyway, I recognised I was very lucky learning from her as she’s a professional dancer!!!
